Mongolian Economic Forum This Week

The Mongolian Government hosts the Mongolian Economic Forum this week as a two day conference including government officials, and key figures from private enterprise and civil society. The Forum was initiated under the banner of the government’s “New Revival” program and seeks to explore opportunities to increase the speed and intensity of Mongolia’s economic development.

“New Revival” is a policy initiative put forward by the government with the goal of improving development and resilience of the Mongolian economy in the near to mid-term through Public-Private Partnerships, and new foreign investment.

The “New Revival” policy approaches development issues from key sectors, including energy, industry, green development, border security and crossing, and the revival of urban and rural economies.

In the days before the official start of the Mongolian Economic Forum, Minister of Energy N.Tavinbekh joined a meeting where he gave a presentation of important energy sector development projects currently planned in the country. Financing and investment in these new energy projects were discussed at the planning meeting.
